Minister Persaud in Supenaam Creek…

Parents must send children to school regularly
MINISTER of Agriculture, Mr. Robert Persaud, during a recent visit to Supenaam Creek, urged parents to send their children to school regularly.
Addressing scores of residents at a farmers’ meeting there, he pointed out that the largest part of the National Budget is spent on education, annually, because Government wants every child to have access to it.

Persaud noted that Government is providing free uniforms and meals to some students and parents must let their children take advantage of the many opportunities available, so they can have a brighter future.
He said Government has constructed a big, modern nursery school in Supenaam Creek but some parents are not sending their children to classes although they have a responsibility to do so.
Only 17 children are currently on roll at the nursery school.
