The $1.2B in-patient facility at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) is “progressing nicely”, according to Mr. Parmanand Samaroo, GPHC Director of Facilities Management, who added that the project remains ahead of schedule. “The project is an 18-month one, with the target date being September 2010…. Right now we are aiming to complete the project 15 weeks ahead of schedule”, he said
Samaroo noted that, to date, there have not been disruptions and the project is progressing well.
According to him, fortnightly meetings are held by the Health Facilities Development Unit to review the progress of the work.
The upgrade of the facility is in keeping with GPHC’s Master Plan and the National Development Strategy to improve the quality and efficacy of health services. At the end of project , the facility is expected to house approximately 300 patients.
