TREVOR Boston, 33, of Lot 101 Pearl, East Bank Demerara, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, following investigations into an April 3 fatal accident.
He appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson yesterday and was remanded to prison after pleading not guilty to the offence, particulars of which said, he drove minibus BLL 6268 in a manner dangerous to the public and caused the death of Alberta Nelson.
The defendant told the Court he was proceeding west along Croal Street, in Georgetown, when the woman disembarked another vehicle and crossed the road without paying attention to the traffic.
Boston said he transported the victim to hospital where she died six days later.
Police Inspector Stephen Telford, prosecuting, had no objection to bail for Boston but the magistrate refused the grant and transferred the case to another court for today.
