Cop in fatal schoolboy shooting for Court today

THE policeman who is alleged to have killed 16-year-old Kelvin Anthony Fraser on June 7 is expected to answer charges in Court today.
Father of the dead lad, Junior Fraser told the Guyana Chronicle yesterday he was informed that his son’s accused killer would have appeared in Court either at Vreed-en-Hoop, West Coast Demerara or Wales, West Bank Demerara yesterday.

He said he was at Vreed-en-Hoop Court from 09:00 h until around 14:00 h because he had heard the cop was going to make an appearance but no sitting was held there.
Fraser said there has been no communication with him, by any Police officer, since Kelvin’s shooting death and he has had to rely solely on media reports.
The man said he was to resume work yesterday but he has not yet fully faced the reality of the tragedy.
Kelvin was shot at Patentia, West Bank Demerara, where he was buried on Monday, following a moving thanksgiving service at New Life Full Gospel Fellowship Church in the same village.
Police, in a press release after the incident, said they were investigating the fatal shooting of Fraser by an officer who was responding to a report of a group of men molesting female students at Patentia Secondary School.
