CHARTERED Accountant Christopher Ram who claims that he has been libelled by a letter published in the Guyana Chronicle was granted an interim injunction restraining the defendants from publishing or further publishing the said or similar libel.
The injunction was granted by the Honourable Mr. Ian Chang, Chief Justice (In Chambers) on June 8, 2010.
The writ was issued by Mr. Rex Mc Kay, S.C.
It is further ordered that the matter do stand adjourned to Tuesday the 15th day of June, 2010, at 11.30 a.m.
The plaintiff’s claim is against the defendants jointly and severally for
(I) Damages in excess of $100,000 for libel printed and published by the defendants of and concerning the plaintiff in the issue of the Guyana Chronicle of Wednesday June 2, 2010.
