Remanded over G$100 bill row

AN incident over a G$100 bill ended up with one man nursing wounds to his head and another being remanded to prison.
Winette Wilson, 30, of 101 Hunter Street, Albouystown, pleaded not guilty to the charge which said, on last February 9, he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Irwin Whittington with intent to maim, disfigure, disable, or cause him grievous bodily harm.

The defendant told the court he and Whittington had a similar issue last December, but that it was settled. He said he owed Whittington’s brother $100 and assured him that he will repay in due time. However, he said Whittington went up to him and made a big scene over the money.
Whittington, however, said he was at the City Mall in Georgetown when the defendant rode up on a bicycle. He said his brother asked for his money but that Wilson tried to bully them and it was not long after that he became enraged and chopped him on his hand and his head. After doing so, Whittington said Wilson rode away on his bicycle.
Wilson was remanded to prison and will return to court on June 22.
