RDC moves to relocate Charity Market vendors

THE Regional Democratic Council (RDC) of Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam) yesterday gave permission for a three-member committee to clear vendors and stalls from the shoulders of Charity Public Road on Essequibo Coast.
The sellers are to be relocated on the newly constructed $21M open air tarmac in front the Pomeroon Oil Mill.

Regional Chairman, Mr. Alli Baksh endorsed the move to have the congested area cleared immediately.
He said the Police will be informed of RDC’s decision and the Minister of Local Government and Regional Development, Mr. Kellawan Lall, would be asked for his support.
The committee, which is headed by Chairman of the RDC Sub-Committee for Local Government and Hinterland Affairs, Mr. Pooran Persaud, includes another People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) Councillor, Mr. Fizul Bacchus and Alliance for Change (AFC) Councillor, Mr. Francis Darchiville.
The trio has already mapped out a strategy for the task.
