Councillor reports fears in Pomeroon since kidnapping

MANY Pomeroon residents are experiencing sleepless nights since the forced disappearance of 46-year-old boat builder, Fabian Gonsalves, last Thursday night.
The victim was snatched from his mother-in-law’s home at Jacklow and People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) Councillor,
Mr. Rudolph Garraway, the Pomeroon Representative on the Regional Democratic Council (RDC) of Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam), told the statutory meeting yesterday that other people  are living in fear and cannot sleep at night.
He said people are so fearful that, if a boat with a high speed engine traverses the river at night time, everyone becomes afraid, thinking that armed gunmen are about to attack.
Police are continuing their investigations into the kidnapping but have found no trace of Gonsalves’ whereabouts up to press time.
