FORTY-EIGHT-YEAR-OLD Chanderband Indar, of Mon Repos, was yesterday charged with the murder of another carpenter, Ravindra Singh, 28, of Anandale.
The accused appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman, at Sparendaam Court, where he was remanded to prison until June 18.
The body of the victim was found at Indar’s Block ‘CC’ Mon Repos home on the morning of May 31 and a post mortem examination revealed that he died of strangulation.
Singh was cremated at the Good Hope Crematorium, also on East Coast Demerara, last Saturday.
Before his death, Singh had been at the house for which Indar was caretaker and in company with others cooking, eating and drinking.
Singh leaves to mourn his father, Ramdeo Singh and a brother, who both reside abroad and a sister, Sonia, who lives in Guyana.
