TALK about the kidnapped boat builder dominated conversations at the usually busy Monday market at Charity, on the Essequibo Coast, yesterday. People speculated on what might have happened to the victim, Fabian Gonsalves, of Jacklow, Pomeroon.
Shoppers, vendors, farmers and others wondered whether he is dead, are his kidnappers from Venezuela or Colombia and what was behind his kidnapping.
But, up to press time, the Guyana Chronicle learnt that there was still no trace of Gonsalves or clues to his whereabouts.
The 46-year-old missing man was seized by armed gunmen at around 22:30h last Thursday night while he was watching television with his mother-in-law, Carol Adams and her grandson, 23-year-old Chris Williams.
The heavily armed men terrorised and bound Adams and Williams before forcefully taking away Gonsalves in a high speed boat.
Local Police are continuing to investigate the forced disappearance of Gonsalves, who lives with his wife and two children at Hampton Court, also on the Essequibo Coast, but conducts his boat building operations in Pomeroon. (Rajendra Prabhulall)
