Vandals rip metal bars from bridge in the city

This bridge at the corners of King Street and South Road, in Georgetown, is yet another target for the social rejects, including some ‘junkies’, who have been stripping it of material to sell to scrap metal dealers. Most of the bars on this bridge have been ripped off by vandals. Prime Minister Samuel Hinds has suspended the sale of scrap iron and said he was forced to do so to curb vandalism that continues unabated on private and State property containing metal.
