ALL the suspects, who were arrested following the shooting murder of Arjune Gobin at Wellington Park, Corentyne, Berbice, on May 17, have been released.
The victim was shot dead while he and his employer were responding to a call for help from the latter’s sister. Commander of ‘B’ Division, Assistant Commissioner Steve Merai said yesterday that they had to free the group, as the occupants of the house where the robbery was committed were locked in a room and cannot identify the attackers who hammered their way into the building.
Neither could the victim’s relatives who live next door, resulting in the Police being unable to institute any charges but the investigations are continuing, Merai said.
Gobin, 47, of Lot 47 Bloomfield, Corentyne, was killed while his employer, Rajindra Persaud, Manager of Nand Persaud and Company, was injured, when they both arrived at the crime scene in separate motor vehicles.
The six bandits, using a sledge hammer, destroyed a portion of the concrete wall to gain entry to the heavily grilled house, which they riddled with gunfire and stole $5,500.
