ERC to commence Annual Constituency Meetings

The Ethnic Relations Commission (ERC) will be commencing its annual Constituency Meetings from today to Friday, to gather feedback from its stakeholders on the work conducted over the years in promoting harmony and good relations in society.
The meetings will involve various constituencies, including Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Women,
Youth, Labour and the Private Sector, along with a meeting with civil society.
The feedback will be reviewed during the Strategic Assessment of the Commission’s work, which will be also conducted.
The Strategic Assessment Process, headed by a consultant, will review the ERC’s performance and the Commission’s impact on society and the country.
The assessment will include a strategic review of the ERC, a retreat of the Commission to discuss findings, validating findings with stakeholders, and producing a final report of the process.
Since its formation in 2003, the ERC has worked across Guyana and continues to work to promote inter-ethnic relations by addressing issues such as equality of opportunity, discrimination, conflict resolution and respect for each other.
