Director of Sports donates sports equipment to dormitory boys at Cove and John Ashram

Director of Sports, Neil Kumar, believes academics and nutritive intake alone is insufficient for proper nurturing of the young, and it falls within his mandate to ensure that young Guyanese receive the requisite equipment that would enhance their development and make them rounded personalities.
Mr. Kumar said that his department is advancing, introducing and sustaining programmes that are intended to generate interest in the young in society, especially at the school level, in the various areas of sports.
It is against this background that the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport made a donation of several pieces of sporting equipment, comprising cricket gear, volleyball and football equipment, and chess games to the Guyana Sevashram Sangha for use by the dormitory boys and the students of the Pranav Computer College and the Zara Learning Centre.
