Autopsy reveals murdered woman died of fractured skull

AN AUTOPSY, performed yesterday by Dr. Nehaul Singh, established that Bridgette Gangadin, 30, of Lot 3 ‘E’ Lusignan Public Road, died from a fractured skull.
It was also found that her injuries were caused when a motor vehicle wheel crushed her head.
The woman’s body was found on the roadway at Vigilance, also East Coast Demerara, on Sunday morning.
In a press release, issued previously, Police said they were investigating the suspected murder of the victim discovered about 02:25 hrs Sunday on the verge of Vigilance Public Road, with suspected marks of violence.
The release said initial investigations led to the arrest of her husband, Daveanand Gangadin, who is in custody.
His mother-in-law, Punarbattie Bharrat, 60, told the Guyana Chronicle that her daughter had been abused since she was married at age 14.
She said her daughter had been beaten as recent as a week ago over a triangular affair in which her husband is involved.
According to her, numerous reports were made to Vigilance Police, who would lock up the perpetrator for a day and then release him.

The latest incident, said Gangadin’s sister, Natasha Bharrat, happened after the couple had gone to visit friends at Enmore and Enterprise, also on the East Coast of Demerara and returned home.
They had a fight over a cell phone call and left home, again, in a Canter truck after which she was killed, the sibling told this newspaper.
Relatives claimed she was dumped from the vehicle while it was travelling and run over on the roadway, a short distance from the Vigilance Police Station.
