ENVIRONMENTAL Community Health Organisation (ECHO) has joined in congratulating President Bharrat Jagdeo on his UNEP 2010 Champion of the Earth Award.
The congratulatory message said ECHO always knew that his outstanding leadership, in the area of Climate Change and Environment, would have led to that and other awards and reorganisation.
“Therefore, we are very proud,” ECHO said, adding that, indeed, “his demonstrated leadership is reflective of the seriousness and urgency with which he views this phenomenon.”
“This is particularly critical to the sustainable development of the nation as we push ahead with securing the integrity of our natural development.
“We are confident that his steadfast leadership and strong advocacy would continue to protect and preserve our environment,” the message concluded.
