Larceny defendant was reclaiming what was rightfully his

–  Defence Counsel
SEVENTEEN-YEAR-OLD Keno Thompson, a walking salesman, of Angoy’s Avenue, Greater New Amsterdam, Berbice, was yesterday put on $10,000 bail after he pleaded not guilty to larceny, before Magistrate Adela Nagamootoo.

The defendant is charged with stealing a bicycle, valued $25,000, property of Sumaru (only name given).
But Defence Counsel J. Misir submitted that the bicycle had belonged to Thompson  before it was stolen by an unknown person.
“Your Worship, my client was only reclaiming what was rightfully his,” the lawyer insisted.
The case is fixed for trial on May 3.
