WITH the aim of promoting healthy lifestyles through fitness and good eating habits, the Hugh Ross Classic Committee will be hosting a Fitness Walk this Sunday around the outer circuit of the National Park beginning at 06:30 h. According to the organisers, Hugh Ross will be here for the walk. Participants will receive tee-shirts compliments of GT&T Cellink and water compliments of Banks DIH.
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Dr Frank Anthony, and Minister of Health Dr Leslie Ramsammy are expected to be among the many dignitaries and diplomats who will participate.
Walkers will move off from the National Park, proceed East along Thomas Lands, North into JB Singh Highway (continuation of Irving Street), West into Carifesta Avenue, South into Camp Street, East into Lamaha Street, North into Albert Street to finish at the National Park.
The second Hugh Ross Classic Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship will take place on Sunday, May 2, at the National Cultural Centre and will feature the best male and female athletes in Guyana vying for bragging rights in the six categories.
The respective winners in the five male categories will clash in the overall pose down for the Mr Hugh Ross Title. Tickets are on sale at the National Cultural Centre at $1 000, $1 500 and $2 000.
