SELF-CONFESSED advocates of atheism, Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens, are mistaken if they think that by getting the Pope arrested during his forthcoming visit to England, they will succeed in discrediting religion. In fact, it will surely have the opposite effect. In his recent book, “What’s so great about Christianity?” Indian-American, Dinesh D’Souza, has convincingly refuted their arguments against the existence of God, and also presented impressive facts and figures to show that, despite the aggressive efforts of atheists, religion continues to grow stronger all over the world, and is even making a strong comeback in Europe. Some years ago, they tried to malign Mother Teresa by calling her, “Hell’s Angel”, but failed miserably in their misguided design. She readily forgave them, and so too, it may be assumed, will the Pope. After all, it is religion that teaches people to forgive and not atheism.
