ICC hosts meditation exercise

The Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) at New Haven Bel Air, hosted a public meditation exercise last Friday and Saturday.
The participants were guided   by  instructor at the ICC, Mr.  Khamchand B.. Gupta, who said that meditation helps to transform peoples’ lives for the better.
He said that all experience stress, depression, frustration and difficulty in their lives and it is important to combat the stress to reduce its negatives effects on daily life.

Gupta said that meditation, which is a healthy outlet for this stress, is a highly specialised technique which provides instantaneous benefits to both mind and body. He said that even though it is generally thought of as a religious technique, it is mainly the concentration of mind by cutting oneself from the thoughts and external world completely.
He attributes meditation to higher learning capabilities that lead to good relationships and said that it is a journey which will enrich persons and make them knowledgeable and blissful.
The centre will also host “Taal Yatra”, a lecture demonstration by tabla teacher Bivash Sengupta o n April 10 from 5:30hours.
