Zeeburg man shoots self in head with licenced firearm

THE Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Maxwell Hardat Singh, 47 years, of Zeeburg, West Coast Demerara, which occurred at about 21:00 hrs on Monday night at his home.
The Police said initial investigations have revealed that Singh went home under the influence of alcohol and began discharging rounds into the air from his licensed pistol while outside in the yard.
“He was spoken to by his daughter and then proceeded into the home where he is reported to have shot himself to the head,” the Police reported.
Singh was pronounced Dead on Arrival at the West Demerara Regional Hospital.
The firearm is in police custody.
