Fudadin is RHTYSC 2009 Cricketer of the Year

NATIONAL middle- order batsman Assad Fudadin has been named the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club (RHTYSC) 2009 Senior Cricketer of the Year and is set to receive over $250,000 in gifts and cash prizes as his spoils when the club hosts its 19th Annual awards ceremony next Sunday.

A total of $2.5m worth in trophies, medals, prizes, gifts and donations would be shared at the ceremony which is being held at the J.C Chandisingh Secondary School, where a total of 42 awards would be distributed.

The launching of a five month long celebration for its 20th Anniversary after being founded in 1990, is also on the cards for the day’s proceedings, which will have remarks being given by representatives of the Club’s official sponsors, such as Bakewell, Farfan and Mendes, Gizmos and Gadgets, DDL Pepsi, Metro and GT&T Cellink.

Amongst the list of items Fudadin is set to cart off are cash, cell phones, electrical equipment, gold jewelry, bicycle and cricket gears amongst others.

Guyana and West Indies female cricketer Shemaine Campbell will take home $100 000.00 worth of prizes, after being selected as the club’s Female Cricketer of the year.

Among the other Awards to be shared out will be Discipline Player of the Year, Most Promising Player, Under-15 Player of the year, Best Fielder and Under-19 Player of the Year, while a total of 10 promising youth cricketers would also be honoured as future stars of the club.

Several schools, NGOs and the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) would also receive donations from the Club along with the clubs’ sponsors and members of the media fraternity, as a thank you gesture for their support of the club’s activities.

The Club during the function would also be hosting the fourth edition of the Lower Corentyne Outstanding Students Awards Programme, where a total of 48 students drawn from nine schools in the Lower Corentyne area would receive $500 000.00 worth of educational and hygiene materials for outstanding performances at the 2009 end of year examinations and sports.

Club Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster will present the 2009 Club Report while other spakers  include Club Patron Mrs. June Mendes, RHTYSC and BCB president Keith Foster and Regional chairman of Region Six Zulfiqar Mustapha.
