ACTING Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson yesterday overruled a Police objection and put Paul Trim, 34, of Lot 226 Garnet Street, Newtown, Georgetown, on self-bail.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to simple larceny charge that said, last February 15, he stole one motor car mirror valued $13,000, property of Corletta McKenzie.
Trim said he was wrongfully accused after someone told the virtual complainant that he was bracing on the vehicle.
Police Inspector Stephen Telford, prosecuting, had objected to pre-trial liberty for the defendant, declaring that people must be able to park their vehicles and return to it without finding anything missing.
The case of the alleged ‘trunker’ (one who steals from unattended motor vehicles) was transferred to another Court, for April 29.
