Baksh gives PNCR assurance on road project

CHAIRMAN of Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam), Mr. Alli Baksh has assured People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) member of the Regional Democratic Council (RDC), Ms. Marva Bowen that Government will continue building the roadway that leads to Mainstay Lake, Tapakuma, Red Lock and Lima Sands.
He gave the assurance Tuesday in response to her enquiry about work on the project and said he has already sought more money from Government for continuing the job.
Baksh said construction of the access route to the Amerindian communities commenced late last year after Government released $50M but the execution is being done in phases with loam, sand and crusher run.
He reported that phase one has been completed and additional amount of $25M was allocated, by Government, to pave the finished section.
