Lethem's sprint icon apologises

I WAS informed by a reliable source that the CARIFTA 2009 medalist, Ricardo ‘Quick Silver’ Martin  from Lethem (in Region Nine), has, for very personal reasons, taken a temporary break from competition until further notice.
His focus, I’ve been told, is on his academic studies and he is currently committed to his training, for his heart and soul remains intact with the track.

Until his presence becomes visible in competition, he truly wishes his athletic colleagues continued perseverance with all the competition meetings that await them on the international circuit.
This is in relation to a GT report dated March 8, 2010 and captioned, ‘Sprint aces Carto and Ageday dominate at Carifta trials’.
In that report, it was stated that R. Martin has been absent from the track-and-field scene without reason for the past few months.
He sincerely regrets and apologises to the Sports Fraternity, Media and Public supporters for not following sports ethics much earlier. He is also very grateful for all the support in shape or form received during his stint in competition.
