COLIN Josiah, 53, of Lot 22 North Sophia, was yesterday remanded to prison on a charge of causing death by dangerous driving. He appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson and pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which said, last February 14, on Mandela Avenue, also in Georgetown, he drove motor car PLL 13 in a manner dangerous to the public and killed Nazeem Juman.
Police Inspector Stephen Telford, prosecuting, who successfully objected to bail for Josiah said the victim was hospitalised after suffering the injuries and died without regaining consciousness.
The case was transferred to another Court for March 16.
Attorney-at-law Mr. Sase Gunraj, for the Defence, had said Josiah was cooperating with the Police since the fatality occurred and was on $100,000 station bail.
