Autopsy on Cuban in suspected murder/suicide inconclusive

AN AUTOPSY, performed yesterday by Government pathologist Dr. Nehaul Singh, on the body of Cuban physiotherapist Guillermo Valintin Martinez Stable, was inconclusive. His corpse was found on March 4, in the house where he lived on Eping Avenue, Bel Air Park, Georgetown, along with that of Usawattie Persaud, which had stab wounds.

A previous, March 8, post mortem examination on hers revealed that she died of her injuries.

Fifty-eight-year-old Stable and Persaud, 47, of Main and Alexander Streets, New Amsterdam, Berbice, were in the apartment he rented and two knives were taken from the scene by Police, who are continuing investigations into the suspected murder/suicide.

She was naked on a mattress and he was on a bed when they were discovered after the caretaker of the building got the place open.

Stable was last seen alive on March 1. (Michel Outridge)
