Providence, Guyana – Fifteen year old Cliffon Park, a resident of the St John Bosco Orphanage, represented Digicel at the toss ceremony of the Second Digicel One Day International at the Guyana National Stadium. Park is a keen cricket enthusiast who attends the Guyana Education Trust College and has been a resident of the orphanage since shortly before the death of his mother some ten years ago.
Cliffon is a fast bowling all rounder who plays for his school – he said he was most delighted to have been selected to be present at the toss ceremony.
“It was exciting to be a part of the toss and it was a pleasure to meet West Indies captain, Chris Gayle,” said Park who is a 4th form student with a keen interest in the sciences.
“I would like to sincerely thank Digicel for selecting me to be its representative, it was an honour and I will cherish these memories for a long time to come,” Park said.
Cliffon was the guest of Digicel for the Second Digicel ODI. Guyana’s largest mobile service provider also presented 30 tickets for the residents of the orphanage to watch the match.
While he enjoys playing cricket, Cliffon says he is realistic about his abilities and would only play for pleasure during his leisure time when he is not studying for his nine subjects when he moves into fifth form.
His brother – 12 year old Lennox Park – is also a resident of the orphanage
