Minister of Local Government and Regional Development, Kellawan Lall, yesterday  disclosed that a preliminary report issued by the Auditor General into the alleged financial irregularities at the Regional Democratic Council (RDC) of Region Four has led to intervention by the police to assess the situation for any trace of criminal violation.
The Minister stated that the Regional Executive Officer (REO), Shafdar Ali, and the Expediter, Bharrat Persaud, have since been sent on leave.
