Wheel repairer wounded by irate minibus conductor

DWAYNE Nelson, 22, of Lot 44 Nelson Street, Bagotstown, East Bank Demerara, is now a patient at Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH), nursing two stab wounds inflicted on him by an irate minibus conductor.
The wounding took place Saturday afternoon and the victim was admitted at 17:55 h and immediately
underwent surgery for injuries to the right armpit and right side of his abdomen.
Nelson told his relatives he was repairing a wheel when his assailant arrived to collect one he had left earlier and became abusive, with expletives, on being told to wait.
Nelson said he rebuked the man for his conduct on the premises and was stabbed by the angry man who drove away from the scene.
Police are investigating the incident but no arrests had been made up to press time.
