On the occasion of the 40th Anniversary of our Country as a Republic, the People’s Progressive Party would like to extend warm greetings to all Guyanese.
As we celebrate Mashramani, let us use this festival to display to the world how we, as a Nation, have achieved unity and social cohesion.  The festival of Mashramani is one that depicts, through costumes, songs and floats, the Diversity and Unity of our people.
As Guyanese, we should use this opportunity to reflect on our history and to commit ourselves to the task at hand, which is to ensure that we continue on the path to National Development, Peace, Progress and Prosperity.
This year also marks the 60th Anniversary of the People’s Progressive Party.  The PPP, from its inception, led the fight for Independence and Republican status.  On this 40th Anniversary, the People’s Progressive Party has great pleasure in extending to all Guyanese “Happy Mash 2010”.
