Police investigating suspected suicide

Police are investigating a suspected suicide by a 36 year-old Lamaha Gardens, Georgetown, resident,  around mid-morning yesterday.
Reports are that the dead man, Nerbert Gerald Orlando Harris, of Marudi Street, was observed by neighbours arriving home in his black SUV-BMW yesterday morning.

Not long after, around 10:15hours, neighbours heard a loud explosion at the house and alerted the Police.  When they arrived and entered the home, they found a Uzi pistol with 20 live 9mm rounds, one spent 9mm shell, a bullet-proof vest and a knife next to the man’s body.
A source told the Chronicle what appeared to be a bullet wound was observed in the mouth.
Harris, who reportedly keeps a low profile in the community, was said to have travelled frequently to Venezuela.
His parents are said to be residing overseas.
