ONE day after a post mortem examination revealed that National AIDS Programme Secretariat (NAPS) Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT) employee, Seeraj Persaud was murdered, Police have not made any arrest.
Investigations into the murder began after it was established that the victim died of manual strangulation, following the discovery of his dead body on the floor of his office, in Parika Health Centre, East Bank Essequibo, on Monday afternoon.
Reports indicate that a male visitor was the last person seen leaving Persaud’s office although the person was not identified and there is no register of visitors to his clinic, because of the confidential nature of his work.
Dyal Jee Persaud, brother of the deceased, told the Guyana Chronicle yesterday that the 42-year-old will be cremated on Monday.
Indications that he could have been robbed were his missing belongings, including a laptop computer, a wallet and cellular phone.
