Two Brothers Gas Station robbed by armed bandits

FOUR men and a vehicle are in police custody following a robbery at Two Brothers Gas Station at La Grange, West Bank Demerara, on Thursday night. Police reported that at about 22:10 hours two pump attendants were on duty when four men came up in an AT 192 Toyota Carina motor car, two of whom were armed with handguns.  The men held up the pump attendants and took away $128,000 in cash along with their cell phones and jewellery and escaped.
Quick response to the report by the police led to the motor car used in the robbery being found at a home in Evans Phillips Park, Agricola, Greater Georgetown.
Four men have been arrested and are in police custody assisting with the investigations.  The motor vehicle has been detained by the police.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, three men and a woman are in police custody following quick action by police yesterday.
Police said that at about 04:00 hours yesterday a team of police ranks acting quickly on information received, intercepted and arrested three men and a woman as they were emerging from Ram’s Pharmacy, Regent and Cummings Streets, Bourda, with two bags containing pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.
Investigations revealed that they had broken into the Pharmacy by cutting the padlocks off a door.
They are in police custody and charges will be made shortly.
