Ronald Evans, 20, of 37 Bagotstown, East Bank Demerara, was Monday remanded to prison on two counts of indecent assault.
He appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson and pleaded not guilty to the charges, which stated that on February 7, he indecently assaulted an eight-year-old girl. Also between January 6 and February 7, he indecently assaulted a three-year-old girl.
The virtual complainant’s mother was present in court and stated that the defendant works at her house. She said she would invite the defendant inside her house and treat him like family.
The defendant said the virtual complainants are his friends and he would normally play with them.
Evans was refused bail and the matter will be called again on March 2.
