The remains were found about 13:00 h, by Police and civilians, in some bushes along Mocha Access Road, also on East Bank Demerara.
Sukhdeo called Anil, 39, of Sixth Street, Industry, East Coast Demerara, as well as his vehicle, HB 7419, a ‘Toyota F1’ touring wagon that was taken away by Police from under a house at Herstelling, were reported missing on January 19,.
Relatives told reporters they are awaiting results of a DNA test to confirm his identification, because nothing, including personal effects, were found at the scene to positively identify the deceased.
Until they have definite proof that the bones and other burnt body parts found are his, relatives still hope Sukhdeo is alive.
However, Police said the remains are that of an Indian descent male, about 25-years-old, five feet, ten inches tall.
Sukhdeo was last seen on Water Street, outside Guyana Stores Supermarket, in Georgetown, from where he would take passengers and, relatives who spoke to him that Tuesday, said he had left home for work that morning but failed to return home at the usual 17:00 h time, causing worry.
He and his daughter had been residing with them as his wife is overseas.
