EDWARD Braham, 38, of Lot 113 Duke Street, Kingston, Georgetown, was yesterday fined $30,000, with the alternative of 12 months imprisonment, on conviction for simple larceny.
He pleaded guilty, before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson, to having, on January 28, stolen one indicator light valued $7,000, property of Winston Saunders.
Police Inspector Stephen Telford, prosecuting, said the thief is not a first offender and the part he stole was recovered in his possession, after he had been seen removing it from the virtual complainant’s motor vehicle.
Braham said he was with two friends who encouraged him to steal the fixture and, when he did, they coveted it.
But, because he did not give them. they called the owner.
