Dianna Ross, of 255 Block 22 Wismar, Linden, and Godfrey Hollingsworth, known as ‘Rastaman’, appeared yesterday before Magistrate Hazel Octave-Hamilton to answer a joint narcotics charge.
Particulars of the offence stated that on January 22 last, at Kurupakari Police Check Point in the Essequibo River, they had 230 ½ grammes of cannabis in their possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Ross pleaded guilty to the charge and stated that the substance found belonged to her. She was fined $207,400 along with four years imprisonment.
However, Hollingsworth pleaded not guilty to the charge and stated that he knows nothing of the substance. He claimed that he only knew Ross from his neighbourhood. He was remanded to prison and the matter was transferred to Lethem court for March 9.
