Shaikh Moeenul Hack, Director of the Education and Dawah Department of the CIOG, officially handed over the material to Director of the CDC, Colonel Chabilall Ramsarup.

Hack expressed happiness on behalf of the religious organisation at being able to contribute to the national effort, not only as a Muslim, but as a Guyanese. He said that the disaster was not only a test for the people of Haiti, but also a test of our response. He said that the organisation will continue to collect contributions towards the relief efforts.

In a release sent from the organisation, President of the CIOG, Al Haj Fazeel M Ferouz said that the organisation expresses profound sadness and sympathises with the people of Haiti over the tragic loss of life and destruction of infrastructure. He urged Guyanese to join with the people of Haiti to rescue the country from the “brutal disaster.”
