The police are hunting for three bandits following an armed robbery at Chesney Front, Albion, Corentyne, Berbice, on Tuesday night.

At about 19:15 hours, victims Dhanraj Sukhdeo and his wife, Marlene, were attacked and robbed by three masked men, one armed with handgun, while they were sitting in hammocks at their home.

The robbers held them up and took away their personal jewellery and escaped.

During the robbery, Sukhdeo had a scuffle with one of the men and he was struck about the body with a firearm which caused a magazine with six live .32 rounds to fall from the weapon. The magazine and ammunition were recovered by the police.
Dhanraj Sukhdeo was treated at the New Amsterdam Hospital and sent away.
