The Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport Dr. Frank Anthony said yesterday that the Ministry has come up with a workable solution to counter previous problems for this year’s Chutney competition.
The Minister, who expressed disappointment with some aspects of last years Chutney competition in a conference at the Ministry’s Boardroom, said that the Ministry had held talks with organisers to overcome the problems.
Anthony said that so far seven requests have been made by overseas- based artistes to perform at the event and a team of technicians from Trinidad have volunteered their services free of charge.
The Chutney Finals are slated for February 19 at the Albion ground, where Caribbean Hotshots will be the backing band.
A curry festival will also be running concurrently with the competition. No semi-finals are to be held.
