A Lusignan resident was robbed of cash and other articles when two bandits gained entry to his house through a window early yesterday morning.
Police reported that at about 01:30 h Ravindra Ramdeo, 22, of Lusignan, was attacked and robbed by two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.
Ramdeo was aroused by a noise in his home, and on checking, was held up by the two men who had gained entry to the home through a window.
The men took away three cell phones, a DVD player and $200,000 in cash and escaped.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, acting on information received, at about 12:00 h on Tuesday police arrested a man in the Puruni area, Bartica, who was found in possession of an unlicensed .32 revolver with two matching rounds and a spent shell.
Further investigations revealed that the suspect was wanted by the police in relation to a shooting incident on September 13, 2009, in the same area, during which Tyrell Gordon of Leguan, was shot and injured.
The suspect is in police custody assisting with the investigations
