Up to press time Police were trying to ascertain the identity of a woman whose body was found yesterday morning at Back Street, Harlem, West Coast Demerara, with multiple stab wounds.

Police said the body was of East Indian descent, about 25 to 30 years old, fair complexioned, about 5’6 in height, and medium built, with long black hair. It was clad in blue pants, a white sleeveless top, a blue and white brassiere and a pair of brown slippers.

The body is at the West Demerara Regional Hospital mortuary.

Anyone who may have information that would lead to the identification of the body is asked to contact the police on telephone numbers 225-6411, 225-2227, 268-2298, 268-2222, 268-2343, 911, or at the nearest police station, Police said.
