DEVON Boucher, 18, of Lot 71 Mahaica, East Coast Demerara and Devon Manroop, 19, of Lot 17 Barrack Street, Kingston, Georgetown, were yesterday remanded to prison on a joint robbery with violence charge.
The duo appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson and pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which said, on January 4, they robbed Vishwanauth Looknauth of a $2,000 wallet, one identification card and two bank cards and, at the time, used personal violence on him.
The virtual complainant said he was a pedestrian at North Road and Cummings Street, when the two defendants attacked him.
Looknauth said his attackers demanded that he hand over his belongings and beat him about his body.
He said, when he went to complain to his friend, he saw the same two men walking on Regent Street, also in the city, where a security guard chased and apprehended them.
The case will be called again on January 21.
