The Mayor and Councilors of the City of Georgetown wishes to thank all those property owners, who honoured their civic obligation in 2009. Indeed, their commitment has enabled the municipality to provide critical services to the citizens of Georgetown, according to a release yesterday from M&CC Public Relations Officer Mr. Royston King.
The release continued, “Already, the council is very pleased with the many rate payers, who are coming in to settle their accounts for 2010. It is encouraging to see citizens ensuring the integrity of their accounts, at City Hall. This would allow the council to provide key services, to the city and its populace.
“All property holders should be reminded that payment of general rates can be made in four installments: February 1, April 1, July 1 and October 1. Citizens are advised to walk with their receipts collected on payments on the previous year. Cheques should be made payable to the “Mayor and Councillors of the City of Georgetown” or “Mayor and City Council” and crossed Account Payee only.
“Meanwhile, members of the Council’s Finance Committee, Chairman of the Implementation Committee, Mr. Keith Burrowes, and heads of departments are in the process of studying different aspects of the estimate of revenue and expenditure of the council for 2010. Heads are in discussion on sensitivity indicators, benchmarks and other aspects of the estimate,” the release concluded.
