T. CALIBRE
THE President should be appreciated by all the ranks of the disciplined forces for taking time off from his busy schedule to serve them again during this festive time. I do not think that there are many leaders around the world who do something like this and this include my adopted country Canada.
The President even announced that all the ranks in the disciplined services will be getting a bonus despite the current economic crisis.
I served in the GPF during the Burnham dictatorship and there was nothing of this sort, instead you were compelled by the senior officers to make monetary donations that were forwarded to the PNC.
This can be supported by some retired ranks still living in Guyana.
I wish that I could have been working under the current President and not the dictator under whom I served.
The President did not exclude the rogue ranks from getting a bonus although there are many of them within the disciplined forces. I do hope that the loyal ranks will help to eradicate the rogues so that more respect will be given by the community at large.
My holiday message is for ranks to work with the President to make Guyana a safer and prosperous place. Don’t work against him as some did during my time of service.
God bless the President.
