The Guyana Fire Service (GFS) is urging the Guyanese public to heighten fire safety measures to ensure that the holiday season is thoroughly enjoyed and does not turn into a tragedy.
The Service noted that every year, there are numerous residential fires in the midst of the festivities which in most cases are a direct result of carelessness or disregard for fire safety precautions. The GFS, in an effort to ensure “fire free” celebrations issued several precautionary tips.
