This is the consequence of engaging in underhand transactions

I have a question concerning the person who purchased the vehicle (Pejaro) which was not legally registered in Guyana. The Kaieteur News December 17th edition only mentioned that an original Road Service Licence was seen.

No mention was made of the Motor Vehicle Registration, Motor Vehicle Licence or Insurance. It seems that the person who purchased this vehicle knew from the inception that this vehicle was not legally registered in Guyana.

Think about it! The tax alone on this vehicle is more than $6M. This is in addition to the cost of the vehicle which would be more than $4M. Why would a person sell a vehicle of this nature for less than $3M which is the price the purchaser admitted paying for the vehicle?

Even if these documents were false, as a businessman he would not have been able to determine whether a vehicle registration is fake or legitimate? The price of this vehicle would not have given it away?

It is no secret that some business people in this country believe that they can be involved in underhand activities and live in their corrupt world undetected.

Albeit late, the computerization and other changes at the Licence Office will expose these in the society who believe they can corrupt government systems and officials for a few dollars more. They do this and live extravagant lives while the majority of the population has to abide by procedures and systems.

This is an example of what would happen to those who seek to benefit from corrupt and underhand transactions.
