The Guyana Police Force (GPF) said yesterday that cognisant of the concern of members of the public and in the interest of maintaining road safety, the following Restriction Orders will be enforced in keeping with the authority conferred on the Commissioner of Police under Section 48 (1) of the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Act Chapter 51:02.

(i)No motor lorry or heavy duty vehicle shall traverse along the Soesdyke/Linden Highway between the hours of 18:00h (6 pm.) and 06:00h.(6 am.).

(ii)No motor lorry, heavy duty vehicle or mini-bus shall be permitted to park along the Soesdyke/Linden Highway between the hours of 16:00h. (4 pm.) and 0:600h.(6 am.)

(iii)No motor lorry or heavy duty vehicle shall proceed north or south along the East Bank of Demerara Public Road , between Houston and Timehri, between the hours of 06:00h.(6 am.) and 1100h.(11 am.).
These Restriction Orders will be enforced from Sunday December 20, 2009.
