I refer to Pandur Rooplall`s letter in your Dec. 9,2009, issue on the topic of a possible third term for President Jagdeo. Having witnessed his leadership, I wholly agree that nothing is wrong if persons do have such a desire, that is to see him serve for a third term.
The President is on record as saying that he is not interested in staying on for another term but this does not prevent citizens from expressing their views on the issue.
I further agree with Rooplall that President Jagdeo has been doing an incomparable job for the social and economic progress of Guyana and has made this nation known and respected worldwide. I have also just seen for myself his humanitarian qualities during my recent tragedy. President Jagdeo is a person of great compassion and a leader with a vision for this country. I support the call for a continuation of his leadership.
